Galatians 3:13 (King James Version)
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
The word redeemed means to set free or release by payment. Christ’s death paid in full the justice the law demanded.
Jesus Christ became a curse for us. He was our substitute. The curse was three-fold: Spiritual death (separated from God), poverty, and sickness and disease. This all came after the fall of man. His death, burial and resurrection restored our spiritual union back with the Father so that the blessing of Abraham might come upon us. The blessing that was working in Abraham’s life was three-fold. He was empowered to prosper in health, wealth, and success.
Ps 107:2 says, …Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
I am redeemed, and I am saying so.
I am redeemed from sickness, disease, and poverty.
I have the blessing that overrides all the curses of the earth.
Jesus is the full and final payment for all my past, present and future sins, failures and shortcomings.
I totally depend on what Jesus has accomplished for me and in whom all blessings flow.
Glory to God!
